Louise Barder is a dual British-American citizen who has enjoyed a career in the classical music business — as an editor, and in the areas of journalism, publishing, record- and CD-production, and public relations — on both sides of the Atlantic.  So some of this blog has a classical musical twist.

    Am I being a pedantic old git in objecting to “ask” as a noun, as in “a big ask”? Thankfully, I have yet to see this in written or electronic communication, but it has become common in the broadcast media. John Humphreys is a constant offender.

    Your “Novemberish” post reminds me of an old curse: “May your life be one long, cold November rain.”
