One thought on “(Faux) Poetry in Motion: “Poetry Is Hard”

Not witty or creative, but insulting, condescending, and offensive, in my, I suppose, not-so-humble opinion. It is a slap in the face to all of us who feel our culture has been utterly cheapened by excessive commercialism and chronic under-funding of the arts. Could I laugh at their snide parody of modernist poetry and “appreciate” the self-referential irony of the ad copy? Sure I could. But I choose not to, because it is demeaning. Poetry has truly sunk to an all-time low when such a cheap shot can actually find someone serious about language who will dignify this kind of schlock with praise for its “creativity.”
